How do room sensors work in a conference room ?

Some meeting room systems have their own sensors to detect motion inside the room and indicate whether it is occupied or not. Occasionally, a room might show as booked in the system, but no one actually shows up for the meeting. Thanks to the sensors, the system can automatically detect this and synchronize with the booking system. This means that if no one shows up for the meeting within a specified time, the room will be marked as available

GoBright Room Sensors are motion-based, designed to detect movement in meeting rooms and provide accurate occupancy data. If a room is booked but no motion is detected, the system will automatically release the room for others to use. Conversely, if no booking is made but motion is detected, the room will be marked as occupied. These sensors operate using RF technology, not requiring Wi-Fi or PoE, and are typically installed on the ceiling above meeting tables, with a recommended range of up to 25 meters from the gateway.

Crestron Room Sensors also use motion-based detection to update room occupancy status and integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Crestron TSS scheduling panels. They offer features such as automatic check-in for meetings, enhancing the overall meeting experience.

While both solutions help manage room occupancy effectively, the main differences lie in integration and functionality. GoBright sensors use battery-powered RF technology, while Crestron sensors are optimized for the Microsoft Teams ecosystem, offering advanced features for meeting management.
